IAIC를 끝마치고 돌아온 다음 날인, 2025년 10월 29일, 신나는학교 중학생 7명과 지도 교사 박영미 선생님이 벨코버드 브리딩 센터를 방문했습니다.
지도 교사인 박영미 선생님은 미래의 꿈나무인 학생들에게 다양한 경험을 제공하고자 이러한 현장 학습을 기획했다고 했습니다. 특히 아직까지는 새로운 분야인 앵무새와 관련된 진로 탐색의 기회를 마련해주고 싶다는 뜻을 전했습니다.
우리는 학생들에게 벨코버드에서 사육되고 있는 목도리와 대본청 앵무새의 종류, 특징,영양식단, 사육관리 및 번식에 대해 설명해 주었습니다. 학생들은 목도리 앵무새의 화려한 색상과 놀라운 언어 모방 능력 그리고 대본청의 온순한 성격에 크게 매료되었습니다. 또한 앵무새 먹이 주기 체험을 통해 앵무새와 교감하는 소중한 시간을 가졌습니다.
체험학습을 마치며 우리는 학생들이 앵무새를 동물로서 더 깊이 이해하고, 반려동물로서의 앵무새에 대한 새로운 시각을 갖게 되기를 바랬습니다.

The day after returning from 2025 IAIC, on October 29, 2025, seven middle school students from Sinnanun Hakgyo and their teacher, Ms. Park Young-Mi, visited the Belko Bird Breeding Center. Ms. Park Young-Mi, the supervising teacher, stated she planned this field trip to provide diverse experiences for the students. She specifically expressed her desire to offer them an opportunity to explore career paths related to parrots, an area that remains relatively new.
We explained to the students the types, characteristics, nutritional diets, breeding management, and breeding of the Indian Ringneck and Alexandrine parakeets being raised at Belko Bird Breeding Center. The students were greatly captivated by the Indian Ringneck parakeet’s vibrant colors and amazing language mimicry, as well as the Alexandrine parakeet’s gentle temperament. They also had a precious time bonding with the parrots through the parrot feeding experience.
As the field trip concluded, we hoped the students would gain a deeper understanding of parrots as animals and develop a new perspective on them as companion animals.
