AIC 방콕 2025
2025년 10월 말, 10월 20일부터 25일까지 국제 조류 사육 산업 컨벤션(IAIC)이 방콕의 라마 가든스 리조트에서 개최되었습니다. 파몬차이씨와 버셀레-라가의 초청으로, 저희는 이 특별한 행사에 초청 연사 중 한 명으로 참여하는 영광을 누렸습니다. 이번 첫 행사에서 주최측은 약 400명의 참가자를 예상했었습니다. 조류 사육계 유명 인사들로 이루어진 인상적인 연사진과 후원사들의 지원 덕분에 참가자 수는 예상을 훨씬 초과하였습니다. 다양한 국가에서 모인 열정적인 참가자 약 500명이 참석한 가운데, 이번 행사는 큰 성공을 거두었습니다.
컨벤션
프로그램은 매일 아침부터 밤까지 빽빽하게 채워져 있었습니다. 공식 회의 시작 전인 월요일에는 이미 여러 차례의 사육장 방문이 예정되어 있었습니다. 화요일 아침에는 태국 농림부 장관의 참석 하에 행사가 공식적으로 개막되었습니다. 이어서 조류영양 분야의 두 전문가인 페트라 볼프 박사와 이자벨 칼마르 박사 등 세계적으로 유명한 조류 전문가들의 흥미로운 강연이 이어졌습니다.
물론 토니 실바도 참석했습니다. 그는 평생의 앵무새 사육 경험을 공유하고 미래에 대한 비전을 제시했습니다. 열정적인 라파엘 자모라는 로로 파르케가 멸종 위기 종 보존에 어떻게 기여하는지 생생하게 소개했습니다. 나탈리 리케는 벨기에의 날리 앵무새 보호소 활동을 소개하며 감동적인 발표로 모든 이의 마음을 움직였습니다.
또한 마티아스 라인슈미트 박사, 스테이시 겔리스 박사, 로렌초 크로스타 박사, 미국 번식가 에릭 안테우니스, 호주 번식가 헤이든 딕스와 맷 베어드, BIRDTV의 안드레이 나베스, INCA 인큐베이터의 아비바 비슈니아 등 다수의 흥미로운 강연이 이어졌습니다. 벨코 버드 대표로서 우리는 한국에서의 아시아 패러킷 사육에 관한 발표를 할 수 있는 큰 영광을 누렸습니다. 수요일 저녁, 컨벤션 종료 후에는 태국 왕립 군악대의 반주와 함께 다양한 태국 가수들이 출연한 갈라 행사가 열렸습니다.
농장 및 사파리월드 방문
목요일에는 수안 팜 팜 노크를 방문했습니다. 이곳에서, 설립자로부터 간단한 설명을 들은 후, 두 그룹으로 나뉘어 공원을 안내받았습니다. 이곳에서는 숙박도 가능하기 때문에, 도시의 번잡함을 벗어나고 싶어 하는 방콕 시민들에게 매우 인기 있는 공원입니다. 오후에는 한 그룹이 야생에서 서식하는 소달마와 알렉산드린 앵무를 관찰하러 갔습니다. 연사 및 VIP 그룹은 호텔에서 차로 2시간 거리의 장소에서 저녁 식사에 초대되었고 그곳에서 다양한 종류의 앵무새를 감상한 후, 대규모 조류 공원과 함께 건설될 예정인 리조트 ‘헤이븐(HAVEN)’ 에 대한 간단한 설명을 들었습니다.
사파리월드
마지막 날인 금요일, 우리는 사파리월드를 방문했고 아름다운 그레잇 인디안 혼빌 버드쇼를 감상했습니다. 대부분의 관심이 새들에게 쏠렸지만, 기린을 보러 가는 것도 놓칠 수 없었습니다. 사파리월드에서 우리는 차오프라야 강 크루즈를 하기위해 방콕의 아이콘 시암으로 이동했습니다. 선착장 근처에서 물과 소리, 빛으로 이루어진 분수쇼를 관람 후 배에 승선했습니다. 2시간 동안 이어진 크루즈에서는 밴드의 연주와 함께 호화로운 뷔페를 즐기며 아름다운 방콕의 밤을 감상했습니다. 많은 참가자들에게 이 시간은 오랜 친구와 새로 사귄 친구들과 함께한 멋진 모험에 대한 작별 인사이기도 했습니다. 대부분의 참가자들처럼 우리도 벌써 다음 행사를 기대하고 있습니다.
IAIC Bangkok 2025
Late October 2025, from October 20 to 25, the International Aviculture Industries Convention (IAIC) was held at the Rama Gardens Resort in Bangkok. At the invitation of Mr. Pamornchai and VERSELE-LAGA, we had the honor of being one of the guest speakers at this special event. For this first edition, the organizers had hoped for around 400 participants. Thanks in part to the impressive lineup of renowned speakers from the aviculture world and the support of the sponsors, this number was exceeded by far. With nearly 500 enthusiast participants from many different countries, the event was a great success.
The convention
The program was packed every day from morning to night. Before the convention officially began, several visits to breeding farms were already scheduled for Monday.
On Tuesday morning, the convention was officially opened in the presence of the Thai Minister of Agriculture. This was followed by several interesting lectures by world-renowned professionals from the bird world, such as Dr. Petra Wolf and Dr. Isabelle Kalmar, two experts in the field of bird nutrition.
Tony Silva was also present, of course. He shared his lifelong experience in breeding parrots and gave his vision for the future. A passionate Rafael Zamora gave us a better picture of how Loro Parque contributes to the conservation of endangered species. Nathalie Lycke touched everyone emotionally with her presentation on the work of Nally’s parrot sanctuary in Belgium.
In addition, there were many interesting lectures by Dr. Matthias Reinschmidt, Dr. Stacey Gelis, Dr. Lorenzo Crosta, US based breeder Eric Antheunisse, Australian breeders Hayden Dix and Matt Baird, Andrey Naves from BIRDTV, Aviva Vishnia (INCA incubators) and many others. As representative of Belko Bird we had the great honor of giving a presentation on breeding Asian parakeets in South Korea. On Wednesday evening, after the convention, there was a gala with various Thai singers, accompanied by the Royal Military Band.
Farm visit & Safariworld
On Thursday, we visited the Suan Palm Farm Nok. Here, we were given a brief explanation by the founder, after which we were led through the park in two groups. Because you can also stay overnight here, this park is very popular with the residents of Bangkok who like to escape the hustle and bustle of the city. In the afternoon one group went to see Moustache and Alexandrine parakeets in the wild. The group of speakers and VIPs was invited to dinner at another location, a two-hour drive from our hotel. After admiring the beautiful collection of different species of parrots, we were given a short presentation about HAVEN, a new resort to be built, including a large bird park.
Safariworld
On Friday, our last day, we visited Safariworld, where we admired some beautiful Great Indian hornbills during the bird show. Although most of the attention was focused on the birds, a visit to the giraffes was not to be missed.
From Safariworld, we went to Icon Siam in Bangkok for a cruise on the Chao Phraya River. After a water, sound, and light show, we boarded the boat. During a two-hour cruise, accompanied by a band, we enjoyed a sumptuous buffet and the beautiful views of Bangkok by night. For many participants, this was also a farewell to a wonderful adventure with old and new friends. Like most participants, we are already looking forward to the next edition.
